This month we'll be running a session on the migration of data from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005, and providing a quick summary of useful information from this year's Tech Ed.
We'd also like to spend a little time getting feedback on the idea of a SQL Server launch event here in Adelaide sometime in November. i.e. Will people be keen to attend? What would their expectations from such an event be? Are there any preferences in terms of time, place, etc?
Jeremy Huppatz will present on the SQL 2005 upgrade path. Jeremy works for EDS as a SQL Server DBA and consultant, and is the convenor for the Adelaide SSUG.
Rob Farley will present the Tech Ed briefing. Rob works for Hostworks supporting SQL Server and .NET applications and is a member of the newly formed Adelaide SSUG committee.
As usual, please ensure that you sign up on the main page of the SQL Server User Group web-site (http://www.sqlserver.com.au) so we can confirm numbers for catering purposes.
The Adelaide Dot Net User Group (ADNUG) will be running their usual monthly meeting on Wednesday 14th September at 5.45pm at
SA Innovation Centre , Level 2, Santos House, King William Street, Adelaide.
Brendon Duffy from DotNet Solutions will be presenting on writing effective C#.
