SSMS allows the usage of custom reports. They are easy to generate (either BIDS or XML) and can prove an invaluable tool in centralizing administration for a large environment. This is an example on how a central repository was built to feed such report.
All maintenance scripts feed a central set of tables used to build a customized dashboard.
