SQL Server Performance Analysis
Author: Peter Ward Date Posted: 20/01/2007 10:30:05 AM
Rob will present a session on how to pinpoint SQLServer performance issues using tools like Read80Trace and ClearTrace. These tools are freely downloadable from the internet and provide an easy way to import and analyse SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 trace data.

The session will show how to determine the top SQL, Users, Applications and Databases utilising your SQL Server, and how to use the trace analysis data to benchmark and compare SQL Server performance over time.

About the Presenter:
Rob Risetto, principal consultant for DbWerx Database Services (www.dbwerx.com) has over 17 years experience in managing/designing database environments, 9 years in MS SQL Server from SQL 4.2a to SQL 2005.

Rob’s efforts enabled Australia’s largest web hosting company to grow their SQL Server hosting business from 3 SQL Servers and a couple of hundred databases to 266 SQLServer Instances, 9000+ databases, 4.1 terabytes of data.
