Speaking of the hard way, we are using SQL 2005 for a *real* client with *real* data – their member dimension has 3 million rows! We are finding Business Intelligence Studio elegantly solves many of the fiddly parts in building data marts and the integration with Reporting Services is tight.
If you plan to build a reporting or analytical platform (a politically correct name for data warehouse) then SQL2005 features are compelling – come along and you will see why...
